Pistol Courses

Basic Pistol I
This course covers all the fundamentals needed to know your Pistol inside and out. We will cover firearm safety rules, the ins and outs of your pistol, basic grip, stance, aiming techniques, cleaning and maintaining your pistol, as well as range etiquette and live fire. Basic Pistol II - Shooting With Confidence
This course builds on the fundamentals of Basic Pistol I and allows you the laboratory to practice everything you learned and refine your skill with an instructor. In this course, we build on good habits and try to remove bad habits to get you shooting your best at any distance. In this course, we will also help you to self identify bad habits so you can continue to improve each and every time you go to the range. Full Course Details
Defensive Pistol I - All-Encompassing Concealed Carry Course
This course lays the foundation for using a firearm in a defensive situation. In this course, we will safely help you step into the world of carrying a firearm for defense of yourself and others. We will cover the fundamentals of carrying as well as drawing, drawing and moving, drawing, moving, and reloading, as well as fixing common malfunction while in a gunfight.
We will also help you navigate the laws surrounding Concealed Carry, the application process, and any other concealed carry/gun topic you wish to know about. Full Course Details

Defensive Pistol II - Confidence with your Concealed Pistol
This course builds on the fundamentals of Defensive Pistol I and introduces pressure and stress into the scenarios. In this course, we up the stakes by putting you in situations to engage multiple targets, make split-second decisions on shoot/don't shoot targets, and introduce you to using cover and concealment. In this course, we will also cover drills to beat the "21-foot rule" and single man room entry techniques. Full Course Details

Tactical First Aid - Add-on
This course is designed to prepare you to address an immediate need. This course will cover the use and application of different tourniquets, pressure bandages, and basic wound packing techniques that can be used to stop blood loss and increase survival chances.
Course is an Add-on Course available with most Defensive/Tactical Courses.
Course cost is $30 and will last approximately 60 minutes.
Utah CFP Course
This course is a stand alone course for those who already have their Colorado Concealed Firearm Permit to abtain their Utah Concealed Firearm Permit. This course will cover the required information to abtain your Utah Non-Resident CFL Permit.
Course cost is $50 and will last approximately two hours.

This course covers all the fundamentals needed to know your AR15 inside and out. We will cover firearm safety rules, the ins and outs of your AR15, basic grip, stances, a 50 yard sight in, aiming and sight acquisition techniques, cleaning and maintaining your AR15, as well as range etiquette and live fire. This is the course for the new AR15 owner or for someone who wants to get to know their AR15 better. Full Course Details
Tactical Rifle - Using your Rifle in a defensive situation
This course lays the foundation for using a rifle in a defensive situation. In this course, we will guide you into the world of the tactical rifle with drills designed to test your target acquisition, movement, clearing of stoppages as well as the use of cover and concealment. We will also cover some room clearing techniques with a rifle as well as some 2-gun drills will a sidearm. Full Course Details

NRA Range Safety Officer
This is the NRA's Range safety officer course offered by Colorado Firearm Academy. In this course, you will learn everything you need to know to become an NRA Range Safety Officer. Whether you are looking to work at a range, have a son in the Boy Scouts, and want to volunteer at their range days, this course offers added value to the everyday shooter when it comes to understanding a broad spectrum of firearms and range types.
*This course cost is $125 due to the need to purchase NRA Materials.
